Nick Saban’s recruiting visit to Palm Beach Lakes High School on Friday afternoon was unlike any other in the school’s 28-year history.
The Alabama Crimson Tide football coach arrived on campus via helicopter, touching down on the school’s football field just after lunch.
He emerged wearing a gold sport coat and crimson-and-white striped tie, and was greeted by applause from the Rams’ football team, which awaited his arrival from the stadium’s bleachers.
“This is very cool,” senior wide receiver Cliff Thomas said. “It’s a great opportunity to meet somebody that you probably wouldn’t meet on a daily basis. He’s Alabama’s head coach, so that’s always exciting. That’s a good school that I’d love to play at.”
